Sia Brookside remains the TNA Knockouts World Champion after a successful defense against Gabby Forza. Thursday night’s edition of TNA Impact.
Last week, Indy Hartwell forced Brookside out in the center of the ring. However, authority figure Daria Rae chose to give Forza the next title shot, citing the fact that “The Gnomie” recently “made a better impression” on her than Hartwell.
In his first KO Title match, Forza came out of the gate, taking the defending champion to the mat, first with a face and then forcing him to bounce from a shoulder attack. Forza launched Brookside into the air for the next potential slam, but was denied with a sneaky kick to the eye. Brookside kept his momentum rolling with a series of kicks and a sliding elbow in the corner. More kicks followed as well as a series of knees.
Forza eventually turned the tide in his favor by blocking an Irish whip and a pair of clotheslines. After rolling around and getting hit down, Brookside tried to escape the ring, but was immediately pulled back.
Later, Forza hit Okla-Gnome-A Stamped and a Vader Bomb so badly that Brookside came out and started heading to the backstage area with his title. Before he could get there, however, Hartwell appeared on the ramp, followed by Ray. Amid a further feud between Hartwell and Ray, Brookside hit Forza with his title belt to finally get the win.
Brookside won the Knockouts Championship by defeating Lei Ying Lee at Slamiversary. Since then, she has maintained it elsewhere, with rematch wins over Wendy Chu, Elaina Black and Lee. TNA announced the signing of Forza last month he impressed in the KO TV Championship tournament. His bout with Brookside marked his fourth match under the TNA banner.
