Former WWE star Zelina Vega, who now competes in the ring alongside Kelina, was The second woman in company history to hold the United States Women’s ChampionshipAfter she beat Chelsea Green for gold in April 2025. Chelina would reign for 63 days before dropping the title to Giuliaand he revealed in an episode of Ring the Belle that he and Greene had actually dreamed up a much different story surrounding the kingdom of Chelina.
The star explained that they knew they had to do something to make Green heel, and he was happy. The story revolved around the addition of Secret Herveys, which never materialized.
“I was like, ‘What if we did something where it was any pay-per-view or whatever, I was winning the title, but then, the very next show, we’d have a rematch,'” he explained. “At that point, Zoey (Stark) should have joined them. “Then you’d give it back, but let Zoe in, win the ever-loving steed from me. Make it disgusting, so that people feel for me. I can get that kind of sympathy and you sit back on your title. that’s great. Now I have something to pursue… He loved the idea, he’s like, “Let’s do it.”
Kelina said she and Green put it together, but apparently things turned out very differently. He also mentioned Road Dogg’s heat from the scene on “WWE Unreal” where he offered to give the gold back to Greene and said she was just trying to represent what the women had already come up with.
Vega retains the title
Kelina said that Paul “Triple H” Levesque had different ideas about her and wanted to keep the United States Women’s Championship on her. He believes it may be due to the reaction he received from the crowd after winning his first singles title in WWE. Kelina said she wanted to show the audience what the title meant to her, so when it was removed it felt even more “disgusting”.
“It should have gone the other way, but it didn’t, and I think it almost worked against us because of that,” he said. “I couldn’t defend the title very well. It didn’t work out the way we wanted, but in the end I’m very glad I got it and had the experience with it, but we wanted to do it a little bit differently.”
The former champion said she would like Levesque to let her defend the title however she wants. She explained that she wants to take it to AAA and even Stardom to show that it’s a “workhorse title” for women.
“There are things I wish were different. I’m still very thankful that it happened,” said Chelina. “Obviously, we’re just characters in someone else’s storybook, and being artists and creative lovers, it’s very hard for us to grasp that sometimes.”
