Before joining the WWE, Trick Williams was a football player who grew up playing the sport all the way through college and then a bit more. With so many wrestlers coming from similar backgrounds, of course there are commonalities between football and professional wrestling, but speaking. “No tea” He pointed out one way in which they are polar opposites.
“The funny thing about football is, on the offensive end, they determine how good you are by how many tackles you can break, how well you catch the ball and how (good) you are at staying on your feet,” Williams said. “The first thing you learn to be a WWE Superstar is how to fall, how to hit the ground, how to flip, how to cartwheel.”
Because of that key difference, Williams had some trouble adjusting to WWE at first, like most rookies. He was used to a mentality where you want to stay off the ground at all costs, so he felt that learning the proper way to fall and get back up was the hardest part of his professional wrestling training.
“From there, you just (take it) day by day,” Williams continued.
The next steps in his training consisted of developing his character, which involved figuring out which wrestling moves best suited his character.
Williams is far from the only former football player on the WWE roster with names like roman kingdom Baron Corbin and Bron Breaker all have quite extensive backgrounds in the sport.
