WWE’s “Talking Smack” aired as a weekly series on the WWE Network for just one year, and its most famous moment came shortly after the show’s launch. In August 2016, the then Intercontinental Champion The Miz went head-to-head with Talking Smack co-host Daniel Bryanin the fiery part, where the then-retired Bryan told Miz he was a coward and he didn’t like the way he wrestled.
Miz took it like Bryan thought less of him because he wasn’t an independent scene honey like Bryan was and left. During the promo, Miz said that while Bryan called him a coward, Bryan was “the one who doesn’t step into a WWE ring anymore.” The shocking line caused Bryan to leave the set, even though Miz thought he was going to get hit, and it also led The A-Lister to believe he was going to be in a lot of trouble, something he explained in one. A video of his greatest moments has been posted on the WWE Vault.
“In my head I’m going. “What did I say, what did I say, did I get fired?” Miz explained. “I remember getting a text from Kevin Dunn and Vince, and they were like, ‘Hey! “We’re getting out of this. And I say: “Wow. I did it. Next week I was supposed to be opening the show. From then on, that title was created to look like a main event title.”
The Miz explained that he had already had a bad night before the hot segment because he had just been drafted to WWE SmackDown. That night, when he arrived at the show, he found out that he was just going to be in a dark game, which he wasn’t happy about.
