Last week was a big one for WWE’s Rusev and his wife, former WWE star CJ Perry. as the couple revealed they were expecting their first child, a son they plan to name Bear, next April. Rusev is excited about his impending fatherhood and is also more motivated than ever to make an impact in the ring. during an interview with “TMZ Sports’ Inside the Ring” Rusev made it clear that he wants to continue the WWE Intercontinental Championship like never before, not just for himself, but as a life lesson for Bear.
“I’ve been chasing the Intercontinental Title for over a year now and I believe that when the time is right, I will bring it back home,” Rusev said. “Whether it’s before Bear or after Bear, this title is going to be mine, and now, especially knowing that Bear is coming, I still have a lot to fight for.
“I have to teach my son how to be a man, how to stand up for himself, how to show his strength where it needs to be, not just spread his strength everywhere. Because you can, you should focus your efforts. So now this will be my next problem.
Rusev’s confidence comes despite the fact that he’s been off TV since Julywhen he received a neck injury, due to which his hands became numb. Soon after, an illness struck, causing Rusev to miss more time. While it’s still unclear when he’ll return to WWE, Rusev wasn’t upset about being sidelined and believes his momentum will remain intact despite the lengthy layoff.
