“The Chieftain” Roman Reigns has been busy both in and out of the ring these days with his movie; Street Fighter airs next monththe following week defends his World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight in Money in the Bank. Reigns recently graced the cover of Men’s Health magazine and also sat down interview with the newspaper.
He revealed that he is still battling Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). a disease that first caught him in his 20sduring his college football days. He told Men’s Health that while peptides are big in the fitness industry for recovery right now, CML is why he has to be careful with that kind of stuff.
“With my medical history, I have to be very careful,” Raines said. “To this day, I’m still fighting CML, so I have to be very, very careful when it comes to different things like (peptides…) Anything invasive, anything like that, I can’t take a chance…
In October 2018, Reigns revealed to WWE fans that his leukemia had returned, but he returned to the ring in February 2019. OTC took a hiatus from the ring in 2020 during the pandemic to protect himself. He told Men’s Health that while the leukemia remains under control, he’s not considered out of the woods.
“We’re under control and we’re under the true baseline, but to be in molecular remission it has to be almost zero, and there’s still those tiny traces, like .0031,” he said. “But it’s important, so I still have to be very careful.”
