WWE’s Rey Mysterio Talks Eventual Retirement, Wants To Share Ring With Son & Daughter

Beginning his wrestling career in 1989 at the age of 14, Rey Mysterio still refuses to look Father Time in the eye. While he’s aware that every legend hangs up his boots one day, he sees his eventual retirement as the end of an era in the ring itself, but not in the industry. AAA’s on-screen general manager expressed his thoughts on that powerful word during his interview The sun.

“I would like to stay active in the business in some way or form. We all know that eventually my day will come where I’m out. It’s scary when you think about it,” Mysterio said. “I try not to think about it that much, but I do. What I do now is try to enjoy the moment more. But yeah, I would definitely notice that I stick around and help. Whether it’s helping young talent in some way or shape, or as a creative person.”

As for who he’d like to retire, even though they’ve had two one-on-one matches that went in Ray’s favor, the Hall of Famer would like to make history by getting his finish. his son, “Dirty” Dominic, something never seen before.

“I guess that could always happen with Dom and me,” Mysterio began. “Maybe we thought it was the end or the end, but the story is always there. It is very affordable to knock on that door and open it again. So I mean, yeah, that was my original thought (Dom is retiring him) since my son came along. It just happened so fast. crazy.”

The Mysterio family lineage has recently expanded as Rey’s daughter, Aaliya is now learning the wrestling business. Ray believes that having his son and daughter in the ring with him when he is ready to fly off into the sunset will be the perfect ending to his legacy in the ring.

“But now that my daughter is training, I mean, it’s different for me. I really wish I could try and share a ring with both of them. Why not? I don’t think that’s ever been done in history, so to be able to share the ring with my daughter and my son would be something. It is a personal hope or my dream,” he concluded.
