Sami Zayn’s in-ring work is something that has been praised for years, but WWE star Finn Balor believes that another aspect of his persona, his promos, is hugely underrated.
Zayn, on the main roster over the past few years, has shown an impressive range in his promos, from being cute to causing serious personalities like Roman Reigns to break character on air and even delivering some heated promos. Balor, who has seen Zayn up close since his WWE NXT days, believes that Zayn’s mic work has a lot of depth.
“I think someone who is very underrated on the mic is Sami Zayn,” Balor began in his interview.Rosenberg WrestlingYou know, people always talk about Roman and Punk, but, you know, for me, Sami’s promos, even from the NXT days, are off the charts. And he really dives into, you know, the character and really, like, peels back the layers. So for me, he’s someone who I think is very underrated.”
Zayn’s promos have been praised by many for several years, with the likes of Mark Henry being a huge fan of his, as recently as 2019 when the Hall of Fame named him the best announcer in professional wrestling. Henry repeated that statement in 2023, claiming that Zayn boomed on the mic In the time of COVID.
