Last night, just a few days later The Tragic Death of AEW Star Pac (real name Benjamin Satterly) at the age of 40 AEW held a tribute to Dynamite — Unfortunately, the company’s third in September. Satterlee’s death has affected people in the industry, including former WWE star Bayley, who shared her thoughts on the tribute show: record in X.
Pro wrestling is so special,” Bailey wrote. “How you can get lost in a game or a character can be so much fun. There is no such thing. But to experience that magic and escapism while honoring a loved one is really powerful.”
The show featured five matches, all in tribute to the late Satterlee, with the opening bout pitting John Moxley against Orange Cassidy. This was followed by Kenny Omega, “The Executioner” Adam Page and The Young Bucks vs. Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero. Two of Pac’s rivals, Will Ospreay and Ricochet, referenced the late wrestler during their singles match, and it was followed by a match between Mercedes Mone, Persephone and Britt Baker against Marina Shafir, Thunder Rosa and Hyan. Finally, the main event saw the Death Riders (joined by Bryan Danielson) face off against more of Don Callis’ family.
In between promotions, the company gave its roster members a chance to mourn and eulogize Satterle, with the recurring theme being that he was kind-hearted, humble and a pleasure to talk to.
