He seemed to turn first reports that a significant number of fans in the crowd have left before many of the “NXT” talents could take the stage.
“Now where we are in Texas is very, very close to the border,” Stiles explained. “I think there were definitely more AAA fans than probably NXT fans. They definitely watch AAA more than NXT I think. Or AAA did so many great things that when “NXT” tried to come in there and do their thing, you know? I thought NXT did a really good job. There were a lot of good moments there. I think their work changed in every championship.”
Styles said he believes Heatwave feels like a “reset point” for the developmental brand. Despite being involved in the Performance Center these days, he reiterated that he knew nothing about drafts or anything like that.
“I feel like some players will move,” he said. “I could be wrong … I think there are definitely some who are ready to go to the main roster … There are one or two (talents) that I’m like, ‘I don’t even know why they’re here.’ But maybe it’s not the right time for them to go.
