Je’Von Evans’ natural ability in the ring has impressed fans and veterans alike since his early days in NXT. In a recent Money in the Bank Briefcase Ladder Match, Evans again showed his ability, although in the end he could not win the match.
Prior to the PLE, Evans commented on his wrestling ability, revealing that there are aspects he personally feels are still lacking.
“When it comes to, you know, my mic skills, like I’ve been trying to work hard on just talking, you feel me,” he explained during the interview. The Rich Eisen ShowEvans stated that he started his career in India at the age of 13 and never liked cutting promos, mainly because he was against adults and realized that he would be incredible.
“Being signed to WWE has made me understand and made me lock in when it comes to promotions,” he added. Evans explained that promos are easy once you break them down and work hard to get better at them. Meanwhile, he’s happy to be given the chance to practice his promo skills live, and claims he’s been working with Paul Heyman lately. “He understands that I just speak very differently. He worked with my uncle New Jack, so he understands how I talk.”
Another aspect of his career he’s focused on is his physique, which Evans insists he’s also constantly working on improving.
“I feel like it’s just going to be better and easier when it comes to durability, for example,” he said. Evans argued that if he is to put on more muscle mass, he needs to reach a sweet spot where he can still be as explosive in the ring without putting too much strain on his body.
