After moving to WWE NXT, Booker T has once again flourished at the commentary table, and he credits his commentary partner Vic Joseph for that.
The multiple WWE Hall of Famer moved to the commentary table after his in-ring career ended, a path he never envisioned for himself. He thanked veteran commentator Michael Cole for giving him the confidence to take on the role, although he later wanted to walk away from it.
“I didn’t think (I thought I would become a commentator). You know, I really haven’t. You know, I thank Michael Cole for, you know, bringing me on the team a couple of years ago. And I just didn’t think I was that guy. I didn’t think I fit in. And on the main roster it was so terrible. I was fired several times. I am going to come and talk to you about it,” he joked in his interview.Notsam wrestling“They just stuck with me and stuck with me.”
The WWE Hall of Famer believes the turning point in his commentary career came after joining WWE NXT to make his job easier for his partner Joseph.
“And really, you know, getting the opportunity to go to NXT and work with Vic kind of made me realize who I really am as an analyst, as a commentator, but more as a hype than anything else. Because Vic, he does a lot of work and I just try to support him and it’s been a great team between me and him,” the veteran star added.
Booker T remembered how his The commentary journey began while working in WCWwhere he would make comments backstage for fun in the dressing room before doing it later character in TNA Wrestling.
