For viewing September 1st edition of WWE NXT increased, but notably, Nielsen again underwent changes in calculating ratings for the 2026-2027 season. According to the Hollywood Reporterthose changes took effect on the first of the month, just for the episode headlined by the NXT Championship Showdown.
reported Wrestlenomics the Sept. 1 edition drew 768,000 viewers, up 22 percent up from 632,000 viewers last week. The show earned a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demographic all-time, up 89 percent from the Aug. 25 show’s 0.09 rating. According to Wrestlenomics, “NXT” was seventh in the night’s cable and broadcast demographics.
The show is up 20 percent in viewership over the past four weeks and up 70 percent in the ratings. “NXT” is also up from this time last year, up 19 percent from its September 2025 average of 647,000 viewers and up 31 percent from its average 0.13 rating.
The episode’s conclusion saw NXT General Manager Robert Stone announce a six-man tag team match for next week between Grayson Waller’s NXT Championship challengers, including E.K. Prosper, Keanu Carver, Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana, Saquon Sugars and Mason Rook. He announced that the winners would go head-to-head in a triple threat.
Elsewhere on the show, NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan was challenged by Jaida Parker. Zilla Fatu defeated Tristan Angels and Naraku once again used the fog on Shiloh Hill to pick up the win.
