After NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced his return during last Tuesday’s episode of NXT, the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will begin tonight. While the exact lineups for tonight’s show have yet to be revealed at the time of writing, Vanity Project, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James of DarkState, Los Americanos, Noam Darr and Romeo Moreno, Sean Legace and Dorian Van Dux, The Creed Brothers, AAA stars El Hijo de Dr. The tournament will feature Mini Vikingo and Chazz “Starboy” Hall, Nathan Frazer and Axiom, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, Jaxson Presley and Harley Riggins, Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov, and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Uriah Connors of BirthRight.
AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina, North American Women’s Champion Zaria and Thea Hale all clashed with NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan last Tuesday in an attempt to call Jordan’s title shots, which led to Catalina and Hale teaming up on Jordan and Zaria in a physical brawl that broke out between all four women. After that, Jordan and Zaria will take on Catalina and Hale in tag team action.
The aforementioned Legacy and Van Dux will join forces with Zilla Fatu to face BirthRight’s Lexis King, Uriah Connors and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. BirthRight tried unsuccessfully to recruit Zilla to their ranks over the past few weeks, and the stable members’ frustration with their lack of attention from the “NXT” universe boiled over last Tuesday when they attacked Legacy and Van Dux in the moments following their match against DarkState before Zilla came to their rescue.
