World Wrestling Entertainment may soon be unable to afford top luchadores such as Penta and Rey Mysterio after Mexico announced a 25 percent tariff on American imports of masked wrestlers.
The so-called Lucha tax is Mexico’s response to the tariffs imposed on Mexico this week by WWE Hall of Famer and United States “President Donald Trump.”
“America can do with El Toro and Sin Cara,” Trump told one source, who asked to be identified only as Linda M.
North of the border, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Rouget announced that Canada would impose tariffs on American imports from that country, including Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, anyone remotely related to the Hart family and any version of the Canadian fighter jet.
WWE executive Paul Levesque-Helmsley-McMahon-Rising believes the tariffs will not affect the company’s ability to sign Mexican or Canadian talent; “We’ll just charge more for tickets and merchandise.” said unknowingly into the hot microphone. “Everything will be fine.”
