September 11, 2001 and the terrorist attacks on New York, the Pentagon and Flight 93 had a lasting impact on American history, but they had a bigger, more profound impact on the families of those killed in the attacks. “When I found out that his father died on 9/11, I made a commitment from that moment on … to call him and let him know that I was thinking of him and his family and that my prayers and thoughts went out to them,” Dudley said. “I feel it now because I can’t imagine what she went through. He was a child. Now I have three little ones to know that they will never see their father again. The man who provided, took care of them, that was their rock, is no longer here because some radical idiots out there decided to do what they did, which broke my heart.”
