Former second round pick Trevor Keels signs the contract on Appendix 10 with Wizards, tweets Spotrac’s Keith Smith.
This step was foreseen trade by the G League which was completed on Wednesday. The 42nd overall pick in the 2022 draft, Kils played just three games with the Knicks as a rookie before being out of the NBA until he played eight times with the Heat last season after signing a two-way contract in February.
Although his NBA experience is fairly limited, the 6-foot-3 guard has played at the G League level in recent years. In 40 games last season with the Skyforce, Keels averaged 18.7 points, 3.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 32.8 minutes per game on .448/.402/.732 shooting.
The 23-year-old also had a strong showing in the Summer League for the Heat this July preservation of the MCL sprainposting averages of 20.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 3.0 APG and 2.0 SPG on .500/.379/.857 shooting in four games (27.9 MPG) at the California Classic and Las Vegas.
