Fans attending Saturday’s game are in for a treat, with two top tests to look forward to. Interestingly, this is the first time the Springbok Women and the Black Ferns have met on South African soil, a fact that only adds weight to the historic occasion.

The last time these sides met, New Zealand beat South Africa 46-17 in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup, but the Springbok Women are undoubtedly the top team. They have won three of their four matches this calendar year (two wins against Fiji, a win and a loss against the USA) and have moved into the top 10 in the world rankings.

The problem is that the visitors are ranked second in the world and are unbeaten since losing to Bristol in last year’s World Cup semi-final. The Springbok Women will have to play the game of their lives to overcome the Black Ferns, but with a passionate home crowd behind them, they will ensure the six-time world champions do not have an easy afternoon.
