Brad Keselowski gave Ford its first win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season in Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.
The first 12 races of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season were won by Chevrolet (7 wins) and Toyota (5 wins). Many noted that the Fords simply didn’t think they had the speed to start the season.
A few races past that seemed to change. Even though the Fords hadn’t won the race yet, they were there fighting for the win at the end of the race.
Tyler Reddick had a dominant car that led a race-high 174 laps. Second in the laps was Brad Keselowski, who led just 37 laps. Kyle Larson was the winner of the first stage of the race, and Tyler Reddick won the second stage.
By the end of the race, Tyler Reddick and Brad Keselowski were battling for the lead. This allowed Chris Buescher to pass both at the same time to gain control of the race. Tyler was able to make a run and challenge for the lead with 10 laps remaining. The two vehicles collided causing both to collide. The result was flat tires on both cars, ending their chances of winning.
That incident allowed Brad Keselowski to regain the race lead. He took it in the final laps to take his first win of 2024, his second win at Darlington, his 36th career victory and snapped his 110-race winless streak.

NASCAR Cup Series drivers will not be competing for points or playoff spots this upcoming weekend. It’s all about bragging rights and million dollar paychecks. This Sunday, May 19, is the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
