USA Women’s Eagles coach Jack Hanratty has made four changes to his starting team as they look to win their fifth consecutive Test match.
The only undefeated team in the WXV Global Series, the seventh-ranked team in the world won Italy 36-27 last time out in Texas and will face the same opponent this Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.
One of those changes comes in the front row, where Laryn Carlton will earn his first cap at loosehead prop. He joins Kathryn Treder and Keia Mae Sagapolu-Senele. Hallie Taufoou and Rachel Ehrecke are a partnership.
Hann Humphreys has the edge over Kapoine Bailey in the back row – they join co-captain Georgie Perris-Redding and Freda Tafuna in the back row.
At the back, Taina Tukuafu has been named as scrum-half. Abigail Paton, who started the last time out, falls to the bench. Tukuafu will be partnered by Nina Mason. Bella Vogel and Emily Henrich continue as the center of the partnership.
In the only change to the back three, Telesi Uhatafe drops out of the team completely, and veteran guard Alev Kelter is named on the wing. This is the first participation of the 35-year-old WXV Global Series after spending September playing Ultimate Sevens.
Hanratty has a strong bench at his disposal. Not only are 50 captains Hope Rogers and Kate Zackary among the replacements, co-captain Erica Jarrell-Searcy is also included, as are Paige Stathopoulos, Reece Woods, Bailey, Paton and Katana Howard.
Following this weekend’s game at Geodis Park, the Eagles will host the Red Roses at Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey.
