St. Louis has been one of the UFL’s success stories, with fans packing the stadium where the Rams used to play. But there’s a problem for 2027, as explained by UFL co-owner Mike Repole in a lengthy tweet.
As Repole says, the dates available at their home stadium mean the BattleHawks “would play FOUR straight home games, followed by FIVE straight road games and potentially return home for Week 10.”
“FOUR GAMES AT HOME. FIVE GAMES ON THE ROAD. Sorry, but that’s it IT DOESN’T WORK FOR US!!!!” Repole said.
Repole added that this does not mean the UFL is leaving St. Louis. Really, why would they go? They have a strong following there.
He did not identify the scheduling conflicts and it is strange that local authorities would charge weekends on which they knew, or should have known, that the UFL would be playing.
Despite this, Repole has chosen to make the case public. Whether that changes things remains to be seen.
