George Staines won a UFC contract Stopping Loai Abushaar in Dana White’s “Contender Series” last week in Las Vegas, pushing the unbeaten Englishman to 11-0 in four ends. Staines trains with UFC lightweight superstar Paddy Pimblett and “The Baddy” helped Staines slim down to the featherweight limit.
If you think losing weight while starving in a boiling bath is torture, try doing it while your teammate is chowing down on a pepperoni pizza.

“This American Dr. Pepper just hits a different way,” said a limp Pimblett after the fight. “I feel great, I’ve been on top of the world since George, it was sick. First KO slam knockout in Dana White’s Contender Series history and what, season 10? I told him you’re always slower than me, you’re always slower.”
Don’t expect Pimblett and Staines to cross if and when Staines climbs 155-pound ranks because teammates who train together maintain that tight bond and never turn their backs on each other in pursuit of a UFC title.
