Buckley is looking for his first win in two years after suffering back-to-back losses Kamaru Usman and Sean Brady a year apart. Buckley obviously hasn’t been the most active fighter in the division – this is only his second fight in 2026. “New Mansa” was riding high at one point, reeling off six straight wins, including a knockout. Colby Covingtonwhich seemingly put him in front of possible title fight consideration. But then he lost to former division champion Usman, dropping him with a few sticks. His subsequent defeat to Brady only made matters worse, and now he finds himself ranked No. 8 with two losses, eliminating him from championship consideration. Still, he still has time — and skill — to put together a decent run to get back into the mix, and if we do that, beating someone like Malotti is a good way to get the ball rolling.
Speaking of Malotti, he has quietly put together a nice run in recent years, winning four in a row to secure an impressive 7-1 record under the UFC banner. During this run, he earned big wins Kevin Holland and Gilbert Burnsamong others. Now “Proper” hopes to lock up the biggest win of his career first UFC main event … at home. He’s sitting right outside right now Top 10 in the year No. 11 spot, so a win over Buckley puts him in. He has shown that he is not afraid to throw down wherever the fight goes. He has scored six knockouts to go along with six submissions – which is about as many as you can get. If he wants to beat Buckley, he needs to have all the tools on deck; however, taking it to the ground may be his best bet for victory. Still, “The New Mansa” has never been defeated by submission, with only four of his losses coming by way of knockout. This tells us that Buckley prefers to stand and bang, which could be a dangerous play for Malotti.
Original card vs. Actual Card/Injuries
Women’s flyweight match between Katlyn Cerminara vs. James-Lynn Horth was slated for the event before Horth had to pull out due to injury and was replaced by a touted rookie, Mackenzie Stiller. Plus, a heavyweight matchup between UFC rookie, Javad Mahjoubversus Louie Sutherland was originally scheduled for the event; But Sutherland resigned and was replaced by a newcomer, Joel Faglier. In addition, a middleweight match Julien Leblanc vs. Gilbert Urbina that card was supposed to drop before Urbina dropped out for undisclosed reasons and was eventually replaced Contender series graduated, Nick Galanti.
Christian Perez is finally getting his chance to shine under the UFC banner after spending the last seven years making his mark on the regional circuit, which includes an extended run with Combate Americas. He could not gain ground in his fight Contender series, but he has bounced back with two knockout wins to earn the shot. He faces Kyle Nelsonwho was last seen getting knocked out in 26 seconds Terrance McKinney (see it here).
Mackenzie Stiller made his pro MMA debut just three years ago and now has a late chance to shine in his UFC debut. He is currently 6-1 with five first-round draft picks to his credit. He takes on a former title contender Katlyn Chookagian-Cerminarawho comes in with two straight losses.
Joel Faglier and Javad Mouhoub will make their respectable UFC debuts against each other in a 265-pound matchup with promising contenders. Mouhoub, a native of Iran, comes with a perfect 5-0 record that includes four first-round stoppages, three knockouts and one submission. As for Faglieri, he is also undefeated at 6-0, five in the final whistle, four in the opener. It shouldn’t take long.
Nick Galanti will also make his UFC debut tonight when he fights Julien Leblanc. Galanti posted an 8-1 professional record and six stoppage victories, earning himself a spot on the big show thanks to a 35-second knockout victory. Contender series. Also Cody Chovancek is another Contender series alum who hopes to start his UFC career off on the right foot You Young Youwho is losing submissions Select Smithsnapped his six-match unbeaten streak. As for Chovancek, he is 9-0 with six starts.
Louis Jourdain – who served the big show through tea Contender series — arrives on a four-game winning streak when he makes his debut against Timothy Cuambawho is losing in submission loss Bernardo Sopaibringing his record to 2-3 overall.
What the “Preliminaries” look like:
In a heavyweight match Tanner Boser and Jonathan Diniz throw down in a fight that may not make it out of the first round. Boser has 12 knockouts on his resume, while Diniz has seven, making them the best candidates to lock in a post-fight bonus.
Women’s bantamweight, born in Canada Melissa Croden throws down against an American fighter Chelsea Chandler. Croden is 2-1 under the UFC banner so far – 8-3 overall – while Chandler is even going 3-3.
Chad Angeliger hasn’t exactly had the best run under the UFC banner, going under 1-3 in his first four fights, including his latest loss Cody Gibsonwhich actually came two years ago. He is back to meet after a long break from work Steven Koslowwho is coming off an even bigger layoff with the last fight taking place in December 2022, a loss Cameron Saima. Both men need a win in a big way.
Nate Landwehr has seen batter days inside the octagon. “The Train” is currently on a three-fight losing streak, losing four of his last five fights. To make matters worse, all three of his last losses have come by way of knockout. If he loses one more in the face – especially if he is stopped Almond Nallothen it could be the end of the UFC road for him.
At the joint main event Erin Blanchfield and Jasmine Jasudavicius throws down to see who improves their position Women’s Flyweight No. 1what was recently crowned the new champion in Natalia Silva. Blanchfield is currently ranked No. 3 and rides a two-game winning streak into this pivotal showdown. In his last victory, he defeated Tracy Cortez via submission (see it here), which was preceded by a winning decision Rose in Namajuna. A win for him could put him in title contention.
Marc-Andre Barriault is in desperate need of a win after losing three straight and five of six overall under the UFC banner. Granted, he has had a very tough schedule, but he still has to win if he fights Kyle Daukaus because it will be very difficult for the promotion to justify keeping him with four straight losses. At the same time, Daukaus is hungry for victory as he was suspended Bo Nickal last summer in historic UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House.
