UFC Edmonton results: Canada’s own Jasmine Jasudavicius takes down Erin Blanchfield in major upset win

Erin Blanchfield vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius was played tonight (Saturday, October 17, 2026) in a flyweight bout at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. UFC Edmonton. With a big upset win, Jasudavicius derailed his foe’s potential title shot and beat the stunner at his own game.

The two wrestlers started the fight with boxing. Blanchfield worked to set up his jabs while Jasudavicius tried to interrupt him with counters. Jasudavicius landed a kick and scored the first takedown of the fight. Blanchfield tried to get to his feet and gave up in the process! There was a brief choke attempt and then Blanchfield began to escape from a body triangle. However, he was never able to break free, resulting in a clear opening round for the Canadian.

Blanchfield pushed forward to start the second, attempting a takedown of his own that went nowhere. Blanchfield landed a nice body kick in the middle of the octagon. Jasudavicious grabbed one leg and jumped on the back a second time. Blanchfield was able to immediately avoid a body triangle and a scramble this time. After a fun series of grappling, Jasudavicius successfully took his back and locked in a body triangle. Jasudavicius attacked with an arm triangle, moved to mount and finished with a roundhouse kick from the top position.

Blanchfield clearly needed finishing after 10 minutes of fighting.

The final frame started with more pressure from Blanchfield, who landed a couple of nice right hands. He continued to push and land harder punches, but the clock was against him. Jasudavicius shot often but didn’t throw with the same authority. Jasudavicius finally returned to his wrestling in the final 90 seconds, finally finishing off the clinch takedown. Blanchfield rose to the top position, but it was too little, too late.

All three judges gave Jasudavicius a 29:28 victory.

Jasudavicius followed his game plan well to pull off a significant upset! I was impressed with Jasudavicius’ ability to grapple with Blanchfield, who is generally considered the more skilled grappler and black belt. His work to bounce back repeatedly on a slippery frame was top notch stuff and it just earned him the biggest win of his career!

Result: Jasudavicius defeated Blanchfield by unanimous decision
