Earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 3, 2026) at UFC 332 LIVE on Paramount+/CBS at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, Roman Kopylov defeated middleweight sensation Ateba Gautier via a punishing first-round TKO (punches).
Gautier was a significant betting favorite heading into the UFC 332 main card curtain-raiser, and for good reason. The middleweight striker has shown insane power inside the octagon and appeared to be on a fast track to the top 15. The only problem was that he ran into a highly technical striker in Kopylov, so if Gautier couldn’t land his advertised knockout early, it was going to be a long night.
Unfortunately for Gautier, Kopylov was picked from the opening bell. Whether he was making clear lead shots or threatening shots from distance, the Russian veteran never put himself in serious danger and always remained in control. Gautier ended up getting clipped, dropped to the canvas and in serious trouble. Kopylov rushed in with hammer fists to stop the big upset.
