Ryan Gandra may be on the touch of death as the welterweight earned another first-round stoppage earlier tonight (Saturday, September 19, 2026) at UFC 331 LIVE at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California by stopping unsuspecting opponent Osman Diaz.
Gandra, who entered UFC 331 as a significant betting favorite, had scored two straight first-round stoppages to start his UFC career. In fact, Gandra’s total octagon time prior to this weekend was under two minutes. Most thought Gandra would be back in business against Diaz, but you never know what will happen when the cage door closes and the heavy fists start flying.
Although this fight only lasted a little over two minutes, it was still a huge success for Gandra. It took Gandra a while to find his range, but once he released his arms, Diaz had no chance. Shot after shot landed as Diaz melted down the cage. Gandra unleashed a pair of vicious left hands from top control and quickly forced the referee’s hand. It really wasn’t much of a hassle.
