This Golf Game Updates Daily Similar To Wordle

A few nights ago, I sat in my kitchen and realized that it had been a long time since I found something golf that made me giddy like a kid on Christmas morning.

I have tried a lot of golf equipment this year and this golf themed game may be my favorite. If you have played Wordle, the concept of Golf slate it feels familiar. Wordle gives you a puzzle every day and allows you to guess a new word every day, share results with your friends and track your progress over time.

Golf Slate has a slightly different setup: it is built as an aesthetic game with unique worlds and experiences. There is a new hole of golf to be played every day and you have an attempt to score as low as possible in the hole of that specific day.

Golf Slate was created by Dan Reiner who wanted to make a fun game that you can play for a couple of minutes every day. There is an old adage that highlights the benefit of making your bed in the morning: when you do, you start your day with something good that you can look back on. Likewise, Golf Slate offers a great start to the day that you can share with friends and family. It may seem new, but a good two minutes in the morning could change your whole day.

The actual aesthetics in the game are fantastic, ranging from a typical golf course feel to dystopian themed wastelands like the image above. There is the wind, the hazards, even different contours on the green that make putting more difficult. The game itself has only been out for about a month and is already running smoothly. As someone who regularly plays PGA Tour 2K, I find this a nice fast alternative.

I have played all the holes that have been released up to this point and have been impressed by how robust the game is. It’s all browser-based, so you don’t need a separate app. It will remember your browser session and you can even save your rounds with your Google account. The connection was fast and all my scores were saved on the Golf Slate website.

You can create groups with your friends and family that gives you the ability to follow the daily progress between your circles. After playing the Wordle each day, I have three to five people to whom I send my results in hopes that they will challenge me. Golf Slate makes this even easier.

The sharing process is so simple that within three minutes of the invitation, two of my cousins had already played the daily hole and responded with their scores. I hope to build a group of 10 to 15 people who play daily with me.

After your round, you can share your scorecard, download video highlights of each shot or simply end your session and go about your day. I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to this kind of stuff and that’s exactly what I want in an everyday getaway.
