All black people Head coach Dave Rennie said “no team in the world” dominates the aerial battle ahead of the Wallabies’ second leg in Sydney.

What has been a consistent issue in the South Africa as the tour All Blacks on Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry appeared to have been rectified at Eden Park, when the All Blacks won the aerial battle over the Wallabies.

With the new escort rules, teams are trying to find the best solution with less protection around the catch area, and the old blocking tactic is outlawed.

Rennie shared the numbers behind the high ball contest which show that all teams receiving possession are struggling to win the contest.

“WHen you have a look at the high ball things, because there is a a lot of conversations Fr that,” he told the media on Thursday.

“There is no side in the the world dominating the the ball will be kicked that them, and no South Africa.

“It is the teams that a blow the the ball WHO are getting a a lot of victory, a a lot in the air, or getting a a lot of notes. I think about it I mentioned some statistics the last one week, but it is Fr one in four that are caught clean by the receiving team.

“So we kicked a a lot of the ball in the weekend in that the situation and won a a lot of that.

“I think about it the the ball that was, that they are hitting that us, our tactics there is was that rather rather come forward and get in the the air where there it is a competition.

“We are I’m trying that track back so we I can legal block and win the ball there.”

The All Blacks clawed back a string of Cam Roigard high box kicks that led to key swings in the game, including their first try against Peter Lakai after Jordie Barrett flew high over Joseph Suaali.

Rennie said the pull catcher technique drastically reduces the risk of a ‘soft penalty’ for blocking.

“So one of the is trying we Got he the weekend included Will Jordan monitoring back, and we gone a couple of stages, won a the ball in the air, and finished up scoring that.

“So it is an important part of the the game. Anyone WHO gets anywhere near blocking run the risk of will be punished and it is such a soft Penalty.

“So yes, so it is the technique that we are was works on, and it is no secret. I think about it there it is a number of sides in the the world doing the the same thing.”
