The Miz has dealt with many issues in his early years in the WWE, including the infamous stories of him enduring extreme cruelty from veterans at the timewho did not consider his entry into the business through “Tough Enough” to be legitimate. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only time he worked in the locker room, as he recounted. WWE Vault as with John Morrison he won title gold for the first time the night ended with backstage warmth.
“We were doing ‘ECW’ before ‘SmackDown,’ and so me and John Morrison went to ECW, I think it was a CM Punk match, and we were doing commentary and we just broke it up and people were upset about it,” he recalled. “Then we go into this match and we end up winning the tag titles and we upset more people because we were celebrating when the story should have been with the other tag team.”
The Miz claimed he and Morrison were told to celebrate like they “just won the Superbowl,” and considering it was his first time winning gold in WWE, it wasn’t hard for him to get excited. However, the locker room disputed both errors that occurred on the same night. Despite this, The Miz recalled that the tag team was asked to come back on commentary the following week, meaning the higher-ups were happy with them.
“We were blowing feathers, lots of feathers,” he recalls. “We started a show called Dirty Sheet, which really, really ruffled some feathers.
“The Dirt Sheet” became one of WWE’s earliest forays into a web showbecoming so popular that WWE brought it to live television.
