In a year and a half, WWE’s GUNTHER got retired Goldberg, John Cenaand: AJ Styleswhich suggests that the former World Heavyweight Champion will be in the main event scene for years to come. Recently, however, Gunther has been involved in a storyline involving the comic character Dunnhausen, leaving several including Gunther’s former rival Ilya Dragunovquestion Gunther’s fixation. One man who doesn’t question that, however, is The Miz, who showed up “Lost Open Radio” Monday and voiced his defense of WWE’s use of GUNTHER.
“I think the way they’re using Gunther…I can’t stand a monster that’s just ‘Rawr rawr rawr rawr,'” Miz said. “It’s one note. Give me the layers of a character. Give me layers. And this allows him to get another layer of hatred towards Gunther in a completely different way. As he did AJ and Cena were an incredible match. I think there is no one more talented, and people always talk about technical ability, but he is able to listen to more than just technical ability. crowd, understand its character and know what to do, when and how to do it.
“Can he do that to everyone? And this is his test. It’s another test for Gunther to show hey, I might be in this comedy, but I can still make it look real and effortless and technical and be the menacing Gunther that I need to be without the Rawr rawr rawr. I’m a big bad pro wrestler hahahaha. I love it. I love this… I could be wrong, I could be, but I love the layers in the character.”
Those unconvinced by Miz’s arguments may find some hope in Gunther’s recent problems with Finn Balor. The two have simultaneously feuded with Gunter’s issues with Dunnhausen, and Balor even brought back his “Demon” persona to battle Gunter on last week’s episode of SmackDown. A singles match between the two is expected to take place soon, although a date has yet to be set.
