Australia Under-20s Eli Langi, TJ Talailev and Ewald Kruger are among the 10 debutants ready for the ACT Brumbies this weekend, when the team plays against NSW Waratahs in the first round of Super Rugby AUS.
The Brumbies have named their squad to take on the defending champions at Bungendore Sports Hub on Sunday, with current assistant manager Josh Townsend leading the pack of future debutants.
Townsend will be packing along with the former Australia U20 captain Toby Macpherson, who will lead Brums for the first time. There are a host of other debutants in the side, including the son of former Wallabies prop Al Baxter.
Lington Leli will be packed in the front row next to Liam Bowron’s whore and Super Rugby Pacific regular Rhys van Nek. Townsend and Macpherson are the locks, while Langi and Talaileva should make their debuts on the flanks, as well as Oscar Cleary at No.8.
At the back, Klayton Thorn links up with Wallaby Tane Edmed at half-time. David Feliuai and Kadin Pritchard will rekindle their combination, which was seen regularly during the recent Super Rugby Pacific season.
Paris Olympian Corey Tool and born in New Zealand Australia A international Ollie Sapsford lines up on the wings and First Nations & Pasifika XV captain Triston Reilly completes the back three as the starting fullback.
Darcy Fogarty, Dylan Bretton, Oscar Shaw, Tu’ukalikali Vaipulu and Finn Baxter are all set to make their debuts from the bench.
This game will begin at 2:00 PM ET on Sunday afternoon.
