Munster Rugby have confirmed that center Alex Nankivell has signed a two-year deal to stay with the province until at least 2029.
The uncapped 29-year-old joined Munster from Bosses in the summer of 2023 and immediately established himself as a key member of the team.
Last season, Nankivell made a huge contribution and appeared in 20 games, winning three man-of-the-match awards. He finished the season with appearances for Barbarians against South Africa and Wales.
An extremely influential and popular member of the squad, he has made 58 appearances for Munster to date and won both Bank of Ireland Men’s Player of the Year and Virgin Media Supporters’ Player of the Year Awards at the 2026 Munster Rugby Awards.
“Alex is a highly regarded and respected member of the squad who has made a huge contribution both on and off the field since joining Munster,” said Munster Rugby General Manager Ian Costello.
“We are delighted that he has committed his future to the club and look forward to seeing him continue to develop as a player and build on his performances for Munster.
“He has ambitions to play at international level and we hope to realize that potential in the near future.”
