September 17: SkillBox has partnered with the Kerala Super League as the exclusive ticketing partner, bringing the live entertainment company’s technology to one of India’s most established football markets.
SkillBox will handle the tickets for the third edition of the competition, a men’s franchise league in the state of Kerala that begins on September 25 and operates outside the Indian Football League system.
The company has invested in infrastructure including ticketing, access management, fan data, payments and digital engagement, with the aim of building a dedicated sports vertical.
“For SkillBox, this is bigger than ticket sales,” said CEO and co-founder Anmol Kukreja. “It’s about building a deeper sports vertical through technology, fan engagement, data and on-the-ground experiences, and bringing what we learn here to sports properties across the country.”
Kerala Super League CEO Mathew Joseph said the tie-up reinforces the league’s drive to build “a sustainable football movement with a global footprint”.
The league enters Season 3 with a bang. Cumulative in-stadium attendance jumped from 451,892 in Season 1 to 547,693 in Season 2, while TV reach increased from 12.76 million to 25.32 million. Six clubs are running this term, from Calicut to Thrissur. Financial terms were not disclosed.
