John Gambadora of Arizona Sports 98.7 reported last week that the Rite would be turned into a bilateral pact.
Ritt, a 6-foot-9 center from South Sudan, has spent most of the past three years as a frontcourt backup for the Trail Blazers. He underwent season-ending foot surgery in January and was traded to the Hawks in February, whom they waived.
Ritt, 30, has career averages of 6.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 146 regular season games (13.3 minutes per game). He is hitting .451/.357/.777.
Ritt signed an Addendum 10 deal with Phoenix in late September, just before training camp. He played in four preseason games with the Suns this fall, averaging 5.5 ppg and 1.5 rpg in 11.5 mpg.
The Suns created a pair of two-way openings on Monday after they officially waived their guard Kobe Brea and forward CJ Huntley. Reeth will take one of those spots, as expected.
