Steph De Lander Shares Thoughts On Departing TNA For ROH


Steph DeLander was one of the former stars of TNA to request and receive their release earlier this yearand it didn’t take long for De Lander to get back on his feet as he began competing regularly in the Ring of Honor. in an interview with “TMZSports Inside the Ring” De Lander stated that he is very happy to be in ROH now because it allows him creative freedom and because he can wrestle again after missing a significant amount of time. due to a severe neck injury.

“I came back from my injury in April,” said De Lander. “I’ll be on the Ring of Honor PPV by August. So I just don’t get back in the ring. I’m on TV, I’m on PPV, I’m World Champions Wrestling. I work for a new company. I have again, as I always do, exceeded all my expectations and my goals. a lot of stuff and I can let it bleed into my games… I’ve only had a few matches there but I can already see how it works, I’m just excited to get in there and work with different people and be able to create with my art.

The creative freedom in ROH is the same type of freedom that De Lander had with TNA, though it ultimately wasn’t enough to get over. bad feelings This led to De Lander demanding his TNA release. And after a few months, there is still no warmth between him and his former employer.

“There is no relationship at the moment,” said De Lander. “There is no communication, there was no connection. For example, the last contact was me saying, “Send me my release papers right now.” And I got them by email and that was it.”

De Lander reveals that he is not officially signed to AEW/Ring of Honor

Since his departure, De Lander has clashed with some of the TNA higher-ups of his time, revealing that they ignored him and vice versa to avoid confrontation. Despite the bad feelings, De Lander didn’t rule out a TNA return, though he believes it’s a long shot if it ever happens.

“The way wrestling is, everybody is ping-ponging all over the place,” DeLander said. “So I’m never going to sit here and say I’m never, ever, ever going to do this thing. But at this point I don’t see that as an option in the near future. Again, things are subject to change. But the talks have to happen, and I don’t think they’ll happen anytime soon.”

Back to her current time with Ring of Honor, De Lander was asked if her recent appearances, including challenging Deonna Purazzo for the Ring of Honor Women’s Pure Championship. Death before dishonourmeant he was signed to ROH or AEW. According to De Lander, this is not the case yet.

“I don’t have a contract at the moment,” De Lander said. “I pay in Ring of Honor that I did in TNA, I did in Ring of Honor. They have done it with great talent. I don’t really know, we’ll all have to wait and see together.”
