October 11: Sportradar has agreed to sell its Atrium Sports business to sports technology business Teamworks for $170 million.
The deal was announced earlier this week and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Sportradar acquired the business in early 2021 for €192.2 million.
Atrium focuses on on-field analytics for teams and leagues. The sale is part of a shift by Sportradar to focus on its core products.
“This transaction optimizes and streamlines our business as we focus on our core gambling, gaming and media priorities, while allowing us to retain key technology assets and capabilities that will support growth and innovation,” said CEO Carsten Koerl. “The proceeds will further strengthen our balance sheet and support capital allocation priorities.”
Koerl said Sportradar would “work closely with Teamworks to ensure a seamless transition for our customers, partners and employees.”
Sportradar maintains several Atrium assets that are core to its data and technology products. These include automated video production, automated graphics, computer vision capability and competition management products.
The company described the price as “an incremental double-digit EBITDA multiple relative to Sportradar’s market valuation.”
For Teamworks, the acquisition adds analytics services for teams and leagues to its existing business.
