Mike Bayley opened up about his loss to Ilya Dragunov in the former WWE star’s AEW in-ring debut.
Dragunov made his debut in the ring in the issue of October 21AEW Dynamite:”, where he met one of the best players in the promotion, Bale. After the game, Bailey spoke about his loss. vlogexpressing disappointment with the result while praising the opponent.
“F***,” Bailey said, reflecting on his loss. “And I’ve been thinking a lot about Wednesday. Good game, you know, good times. I got exactly what I wanted, which is one of the best wrestlers in the world, finally, where the best wrestling is. Shout out to Ilya! I’m winning over the AEW audience right, that people don’t notice that I’m close to winning, that I go out there and give it my all with the best wrestlers in the world, but it’s exhausting.
Bayley, however, has come to terms with her situation and said she will continue to pursue her goal of winning the singles title in AEW despite her in-ring setbacks. He added that he will continue to push to achieve that goal, however long it takes.
The former AEW Trios Champion has had several opportunities to win singles titles in AEW, including the AEW World Championship, TNT Championship, National Championship and International Championship, but has come up short each time. However, given his never-say-die attitude, Bailey could very well one day climb the ladder and realize his dream.
