The Chicago Sky’s game against the Golden State Valkyries was interrupted in the third quarter when several sex toys were thrown onto the court. At least three objects were thrown and at least one landed on the pitch, prompting post-match criticism from Sky players.
It marked the second straight day that a WNBA game was interrupted by fans throwing a sex toy onto the court, while Thursday’s game between the Los Angeles Sparks and the Atlanta Dream it was also postponed and resulted in the fan being banned for life. Friday’s ION broadcast made no mention of the incident, focusing on Sky’s 73-70 victory, which ended in dramatic fashion with Sydney Taylor’s game-winner.

The incidents mirror a series of disturbances from last season, when green sex toys were thrown onto WNBA courts in multiple arenas in connection with cryptocurrency scheme.
Heaven’s Guardian Natasha Cloud angered viewers who threw these objects, calling them “lame as fuck…”.
“Men who throw it around, it also shows that you’re weak — like, extremely weak — and it says a lot about how you feel about women,” Cloud said.
She added: “That hatred is unwarranted. It’s not factual. It says more about that individual’s internal struggles than it will ever say about a collective group.”
Taylor called the actions “shabby.”
Sky issued a statement on Saturday condemning the actions.
“Chicago Sky is strongly committed to player and fan safety. Throwing objects onto the field violates our fan conduct policy and is disruptive and dangerous,” the statement read.
“Sky, Wintrust Arena, Chicago Police and WNBA officials are conducting an investigation into the incident at the August 21st Sky game. We are in the process of identifying the individuals involved and will pursue criminal charges once identified. Anyone caught violating this policy will be prosecuted and face a lifetime ban from our arenas.”
The Chicago Police Department confirmed its involvement in the investigation on Saturday.
Last season, sex toys were thrown onto or onto the field in six games between late July and early August. The trend soon died down.
