Sixers forward Dominic Barlov the team announced on Monday (Link to Twitter via Derek Bodner of PHLY Sports).
According to the 76ers, Barlow will be out for at least two weeks, at which point he will be reevaluated.
Playing a relatively modest role in his first three NBA seasons with San Antonio and Atlanta, Barlow has become a reliable part of the head coaching staff Nick Nurserotation with Philadelphia in 2025/26. The 6-foot-9 power forward played 71 games last season, including as a starter, and averaged 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks in 23.8 minutes per game while playing solid and versatile defense.
Barlow was expected to compete for a rotation role again this season, but instead will be out until at least early November. The 23-year-old will miss at least the first seven games of the 2026/27 regular season.
Philadelphia will open the season in the frontcourt as a free agent Ariel Hookporti — 7’0″ center who spent the last two years with the Knicks — suffered a Achilles tendon rupture against his former team in the preseason.
Barlow began last season on a two-way contract, but that was converted to a two-year, $6.8 million standard deal in February and exercised a team option for 2026-27 in June. He was right since at least early October, and hasn’t played in a single preseason game this fall.
