“Robbie Ure is one who has been on the radar for his form in Sweden in particular, in the run-up to the World Cup, but missed the squad.
“Getting that move to Sevilla shows that he has the skills to go and play at the highest level.
“It’s an area we’ve struggled with for a number of years and for Scotland to bring competition.
“Robbie Ure has taken an unconventional path. He definitely deserves some respect because he’s been brave enough to leave and build a career elsewhere and maybe he’ll be allowed to develop and focus on himself to get to this point.”
In recalling McBurnie, McFadden added: “Oli deserves his chance and there’s been a bit of a reaction to Oli over the last few years.
