Despite this general change of pace, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns’ personal schedule will remain the same. in a recent interview with “Club Shay Shay“, he explained why.
“I think we’re trying to do more live events. They’re good, but we’re just in a business model where TV rights are TV rights and there’s so much money that we’ve gotten to the point where it doesn’t make sense for me to do live events anymore,” Raines said. “What if I get hurt? There’s so much money that Mondays and Fridays and our PLEs are going in there now that I can’t just go out there and wrestle 4,000, 5,000 just for those eyeballs. Now I have to save it. But those reps are important. Something fresh to run every night, you can run.”
In his early days in WWE, Reigns noted that he consistently worked between 150 and 200 shows per year, which greatly helped him develop many of the skills required to be a WWE Superstar. “The OTC” believes that WWE’s current landscape of rising stars could achieve the same representatives of their live events.
