During Wednesday’s three-hour block of AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision, it was revealed that TBS Champion Persephone will be: defending his title at AEW All Out at the Open Challenge on Saturday. According to a new report, that challenge will be answered by a new face at the company.
According to Self Made on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, former WWE NXT UK and TNA star Dani Luna will challenge for the TBS Championship. Luna left TNA in April, and on September 16, Fightful Select announced the news Luna was expected to sign with the companyif he hadn’t already.
In an update on Friday. The fight is confirmed that Luna signed with AEW. The paper reported that he agreed to join “more than a month ago”. The British star was rumored to be coming to the company even before AEW All In London, but he ended up not appearing at any of the UK shows for the company.
It was Luna released him from ATN after three years with the company. She was a two-time TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champion. After spending time in the independent arena after being released, Luna took some time off over the summer to heal some lingering injuries.
When Persephone issued the open challenge on Wednesday, the CMLL Women’s World Champion stated that Thunder Rosa and Hyan could not respond as Persephone and Britt Baker would be taking on them in tag team action at Dynamite in Baker’s hometown of Pittsburgh. Persephone also noted that Maya World also could not answer the challenge because she was on the shelf, which was also confirmed; Wrestling Observer report on Friday.
