No excuses for “Money” Moicano.
8th ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight Renato Moicano suffered a third-round technical knockout (TKO) loss Tom Nolan in the year UFC Halloween main event last night (Saturday, October 31, 2026) at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada (watch the highlights).
Nolan officially secured the finish with punches and elbows less than two minutes into the third round, but the result was somewhat controversial.
Moicano controlled much of the opening two rounds, repeatedly taking Nolan’s back and locking in a body triangle. In the delay of the second frame, however, the referee Dan Miragliotta inexplicably brought the fighters to their feet despite Moicano maintaining a dominant position and landing short punches.
Nolan immediately capitalized, injuring Moicano’s knee and nearly finishing him before the bell. The Australian continued to apply pressure in the third round, eventually reversing the takedown and unloading until Miragliotta finished the fight.
Shortly after the loss, Moicano issued a statement on social media. Despite the controversial reset, the Brazilian did not criticize Miragliotta or offer any apologies.
“Congratulations Tom Nolan. You’re a beast!” Moicano wrote on social media.
“I want to thank the fans! I had a terrible performance. I was well trained. I managed to regain control but I couldn’t do any damage. He defended well! Congratulations to the man. Let’s move on!”
Moicano has now lost three of its last four games with a main event win Chris Duncan served as his only win during that stretch. The 37-year-old revealed before UFC Halloween that he plans to do just that terminate your current contract and test free agency. After Saturday’s loss, he has two fights left on that deal.
Meanwhile, the victory extended Nolan’s winning streak to six and represented the biggest win of the 26-year-old Australian’s career.
