R-Truth appears to have suffered a legitimate injury to his “WWE SmackDownmatch against former Tag team mate Damian Priest on Friday. Trout climbed the top rope to hit a missile dropkick during the match and was checked by the referee after he landed on the canvas.
The referee called the match and Priest grabbed a chair from the timekeeper’s area. He looked to go after his former friend, but Nathan Frazier and Axiom slid into the ring to make the save.
According to False Finish On X (formerly Twitter), the referee’s stoppage was not how the match should have ended. As of this writing, no further updates on Truth have been given during the show.
The priest turned to Truth after them failed to capture the AAA Tag Team Championship War Raiders from the Sept. 11 edition of SmackDown. After their defeat, the Priest helped Truth to his feet, then hit him with the South of Heaven before leaving.
