Queen Aminata defeated Persephone to claim the TBS Championship at AEW Dynamite. Fright Night” during the main event.
Persephone was making her fifth title defense since winning Maya World in August on the road. Aminata in a four-way format also involving Hya and Dani Luna at WrestleDream. He began the match with all the confidence of a reigning champion, looking to keep his opponent down and drop him on the mat in the middle of the ring.
Aminata tried to fight back at times, but Persephone continued to be more aggressive, cornering her and biting her head. He then knocked him out of the ring with a kick, calling for Britt Baker at ringside to grab a chair. Persephone puts Aminata in a chair and looks for a dropkick on them, but Aminata escapes her and the action returns to the ring. Persephone still has the upper hand though.
Aminata managed to find some breathing room with a headbutt, followed by a series of lariats, rolling up Persephone for two and then snapping her neck. Persephone wiped him out with a spear to end the rally, continuing to target her opponent’s neck.
Aminata had earlier managed to get Persephone on the chair with a kick from the apron to knock her off it. But then Baker hit Aminata with the TBS title belt as the referee was checking on Persephone, throwing her into the ring for what was sure to be the finish.
However, Aminata got out at two, shocking Persephone with a headbutt and delivering the Off With Her Head for the win to claim the TBS Championship for herself.
