CMLL Women’s World Champion Persephone remains the TBS Champion after a knockout win over Hyan.AEW Dynamite:Britt Baker was on commentary but didn’t need to help the champion as Persephone used the ropes as leverage to retain the gold.
Hian didn’t let Persephone get the better of him and start the game. The women reeled back and forth until Persephone hooked a back elbow on the ropes, then planted a boot on Hian’s throat. Hian rallied and went on the attack, but Persephone slipped to the outside where her opponent met her with a dive through the ropes.
Persephone hit a springboard moonsault in the ring, but when Hian kicked out, Persephone backed her into the corner and nailed her with chops. Hyan connected with a big boot and then a lariat off the ropes to take the champion off her feet. They exchanged scrolls once more, and Persephone nearly pinned Hian with a Northern Lights visor.
The champion took Hian out for a Razor’s Edge, but Hian jumped out of it and hit a spear that missed Persephone. Hya sprinted around the inside of the ring for a big knee to Persephone’s corner, but Persephone moved out of the way. Hyan went to the top turnbuckle to look for another dropkick to tie up, but Persephone countered and hung onto the ropes for the win.
