It’s been a rough start to the 2026 NFL season for the Los Angeles Chargers.
But a little professional football history puts their horribly 0-2 record in some difficult context.
The Chargers, once again the media darlings of the season, lost to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 by a final score of 26-14. Yes, a loss to a team that held the third-overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft last spring and finished the 2025 campaign with a 3-14 record.
Then on Sunday, the Chargers come to town against the Las Vegas Raiders for a second straight home game and another game against a team that struggled in 2025 and picked early in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Raiders finished with a 3-14 record last season, just like the Cardinals, and held the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft last spring.
Final score: Las Vegas 26, Los Angeles 14

So the Chargers have lost two home games against teams that were picked last year, finishing with a 3-14 record. And to show a pair of 26-14 losses.
Things are about to get tougher for the Chargers. They face a red-hot Josh Allen and a trip to Buffalo to take on the Bills in Week 3, and a trip to Seattle in Week 4 against the Seahawks. They follow the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens.

Racine Tornadoes He started playing as the Racine Regulars In the year In 1915, as Wisconsin’s first semi-professional team. In the year After many players joined the First Wisconsin Reserve Artillery Battery during World War I in 1916, the Regulars played games against teams in Illinois and Indiana.
The group took a break during the war. It was reorganized in 1919 with sponsorship from the local American Legion, as well as by William Horlick, president of his family’s Fermented Milk Company. Horlick was the owner of the first patent for malted milk and in 1873 he founded the Horlick Food Company with his brother James. They have been granted a US patent for their powdered milk product, which they have been working on for years.

One of their first stars? Quarterback Milton “Mitt” Romney, who was the captain of the University of Chicago and joined the Legion before leaving the team for the Chicago Bears. Yes, from the same Romney family as former Utah Senator Mitt Romney.
Legion did not field a team in 1925, but for the 1926 season it was now known as the Tornadoes. They actually won their first game but lost four straight – including the one seen above – and disbanded in late October due to their financial picture.
