After almost three years of attention spanssocial media shots and real hate, Norma Dumont and Ailin Perez settled their differences last night (Saturday, September 26, 2026) at UFC Vegas 121 At Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Unfortunately, the much-anticipated grudge match had absolutely no results. Despite all the heated trash talk — and Dumont throws condoms and money at Perez in their last confrontation, the Bantamweight contenders produced a terrible, low-output fight that was painful to watch for long stretches. The most entertaining moment may have come after the final horn when security was forced to separate them.
Perez had his clearest success in the opening round, landing an early combination before securing a takedown and controlling Dumont on the ground. Dumont responded with a stronger second frame, filling Perez’s grappling attempts, scoring takedowns of his own and landing cleaner shots.
That left the fight hanging for an incredibly close – and mostly uneventful – third round.
Perez briefly checked Dumont against the fence with a delay, but the Brazilian continued to push forward and appeared to be landing more meaningful shots. Many onlookers believed Dumont had done just that much to secure victory.
The judges disagreed and unanimously awarded Perez the fight with three identical 29-28 scorecards.
Dumont was stunned by the verdict and later made it clear that he had no intention of taking it quietly.
“Guys, the fight just ended and for me it was one of the biggest absurdities I’ve seen in MMA,” Dumont said in Portuguese on Instagram. “For me the second round was clear and in the third the Argentinian did nothing. She went to the hospital to check her head because she is exhausted.”
“He did nothing in the third round. Nothing — and he knows it,” Dumont continued. “I knocked him and talked to him. I hit him and talked to him and he was desperate. I knew full well that I won the second round without a doubt. It was one of the biggest absurdities I’ve seen in MMA and frankly I don’t agree with it.”
Controversial or not, the result remains Dumont’s record. The loss is his second in a row and deals a significant blow to his bantamweight title hopes.
Meanwhile, Perez extended his winning streak and took another step closer to a potential championship opportunity — even if he hardly made a convincing case for one Saturday night.
All in all, it was another bad-blooded match that ended in a sucker.
