Cody Rhodes lost to Randy Orton WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event!but the loss, and the way he lost it, might actually benefit him, as Nick Nemeth says.
Orton used every overt gimmick to beat Rhodes and eventually got down on his knees and begged Rhodes to stop when it looked like The American Nightmare would strike, Orton’s patented move against The Viper. But Orton outwitted him, ending up with a soft tap en route to the win. According to Nemeth, Orton’s pleading persona made Rhodes look like the winner despite the loss.
“Since Randy is this Apex Predator, he doesn’t have to fear anyone. He’s bigger, stronger and better. And he actually beats Cody’s mindset as a wrestler. Because now Randy, who can take anybody, whether he was faking or not, was begging for his life,” he said.Destroyed gap“.
He equated the story between the two to the plot of a movie where the bad guy is defeated, but the final boss emerges and the hero takes revenge. Nemeth feels that Rhodes will benefit greatly from Orton’s seduction, and he praises the way Orton told the story through emotion rather than wrestling.
“And then it has to do with Cody’s mental struggles that he’s had over the last few months, maybe years, and this slow burn and building to it. So Randy gets the better of Cody by not doing any wrestling moves. He draws everyone into the story and the emotions. And Randy is nicer, but it’s hard to see him that way. it was so great,” added Nemeth.
Nemeth isn’t sure if Orton’s plea was genuine or if it was a ploy to get one over on Rhodes. He did, however, praise how the two ended the game, saying it was a very believable moment.
