Welcome to week seven! We have three undefeated teams, the 49ers are 6-0 and the Chiefs and Vikings are both 5-0. The 49ers face both teams, so maybe we’ll get some undefeated and undefeated matchups later this season.
The NFL game is back in action, starting to pick up steam. November is when people really start digging in, but we’re at a point where teams are faced with must-win situations. The Texans had one of those last week, beating the Jaguars in London to improve to 2-4. The Browns made a bit of a statement coming to beat a Lamar Jackson-less Ravens team. The Saints got a big road win over the Giants to help their NFC South chances.
This week, the Giants and Texans face off in what is important to both teams. The Giants will send out JJ McCarthy for the first time since replacing Jameis Winston last week. The NFC East is a disaster and if the Giants can get things moving with McCarthy, it’s a win-win. The Texans finally have some momentum after a shaky start and the AFC South is wide open behind the Jaguars as well.
I’m back with my previous Week 7 pick from the Patriots-Bears. Thursday night football. Survivor involves picking one team each week to win. If they beat you, if they lose you’re out in most cases. I’m in a single tank with four inlets, but it’s also a double drain tank. I missed the two entries last week when the Cowboys got stung. I’m down to two entries, each with one mark. We are walking a fine line!
Check out the safest picks, the best prices, and the pitfall picks below. I’ll post my own picks at the end. I’ll update on Sunday after I’ve locked in my three picks for the weekend.
I have included odds for favorites in each game FanDuel.
Texans (-10.5) over Giants
The Texans defense should be able to put JJ McCarthy in the blender. And looking at how CJ Stroud is playing, I don’t see how the Giants can continue.
Texans (-10.5) over Giants
Vikings (-6.5) over Coles
You could save the Texans for Week 18, but that’s a long way off. The Vikings aren’t huge favorites, but there isn’t much reason left to capitalize on the remainder of this season.
Jets (-4.5) over Dolphins
Cowboys (-4.5) over Eagles
These are two group games featuring four mediocre to bad teams. Stay away from them.
I have two entries and I’m leaning towards using the Texans in one selection and the Vikings in the other.
